Dermatologists rave about the use of Vitamin C in Skin care, and the rest of the beauty community is beginning to too. This Vitamin has incredible properties which make it a must for everyone from teenagers to older adults to include in their day to day beauty regime.

Vitamin C has CRAZY antioxidant properties! And its special role in collagen (connective tissue which contributes to elasticity of skin) synthesis makes it a vital beauty need. There are different types of Vitamin C - but the most prominent is Ascorbic Acid, which has beneficial effects on skin cells and as studies show may even be able to prevent and help treat ultraviolet induced photo damage.

When I first heard of the benefits of Vitamin C early in 2018, I personally decided to put it to the test. My Skin had been recently breaking out like crazy and my insecurity was growing. I was literally spending all night watching videos and accounts on how to solve crazy skin breakouts when I stumbled across vitamin C. Doubting the power of it and nervous about creating further oily skin, I went to the store and bought a generic brand serum.

The results were outstanding. I had been applying one or two drops of a Vitamin C serum Daily, as it is potent and too much is unnecessary. After just a week I was able to point out the new youthful and glowing feel to my skin and the decrease in uneven tone!

I received some amazing compliments on my skin in the first few weeks of using a vitamin C serum and even noticed that the hydrated skin improved my breakouts and cleared the zones where I struggled with blemishes.

Now this doesn’t mean that my skin is perfect, as a teenage girl I receive breakouts sometimes but with the help of vitamin C the amount has dramatically decreased. Everyone is different and in conjunction with other products I’ve found what works for me, understanding that my skin is still changing everyday and that its not going to be perfect overnight was a definite changing point for me. A night that was once spent ranting to my mum about how my skin HAD to change turned into an uplifting epiphany, and a saying that I have stood by ever since.

We’ve all got insecurities, but if you focus on the positives and how insane your body is, I swear you’ll feel 10 hundred times better! Our skin is constantly producing new cells to help us understand whats going on with it. If you make small changes in your life and beauty routine and test out what works for you, you’re sure to find yourself with glowing skin one day!

Maybe Vitamin C is a good place for you to start too! If you’re interested, I’ve linked some great Vitamin C products for your convenience. xx
